Unauthenticated Instagram data exposure via unprotected REST endpoint
Published Oct 25, 2025 · Updated Oct 25, 2025
Missing authorization in QuadLayers Social Feed Gallery 4.9.2 and earlier allows remote attackers to read connected Instagram data. The frontend User_Profile REST endpoint uses a permission callback that fails to verify authorization before returning profile and media data. No WordPress account or user interaction is required, and exposure is limited to data from Instagram accounts connected by the site owner.
