CVE-2025-1062Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Stored XSS via unsanitized theme background setting

Published Mar 24, 2025 · Updated Mar 24, 2025

Stored XSS in MetaSlider Slideshow before 3.95.0 allows remote authenticated users with administrator access to inject script. The theme Background field stores a crafted style terminator and HTML event handler without adequate sanitization, then emits it in slider CSS. Administrator access is required, and a victim must view a post containing the slider shortcode; the script then runs in that viewer's browser session.
