CVE-2025-1049

Unauthenticated code execution via oversized ID3 data

Published Apr 23, 2025 · Updated Apr 23, 2025

Heap-based buffer overflow in Sonos Era 300 81.1-58074 allows remote attackers to execute code via crafted ID3 data on the local network. The ID3 parser copies attacker-controlled data into a heap buffer without validating its length, allowing the copy to overrun the allocation. The target must be reachable on the adjacent network; authentication and user interaction are not required, and code runs as the anacapa user.
