Unauthenticated code execution via unchecked wanMTU copy
Published Sep 15, 2025 · Updated Sep 15, 2025
Stack-based buffer overflow in Tenda AC1206 15.03.06.23 allows remote attackers to execute code or crash the router via wanMTU. The check_param_changed function passes attacker-controlled wanMTU data to strcpy, copying it into the eight-byte wan_param->wan_mtu stack buffer without a bounds check. The HTTP handler is reachable without authentication, and oversized POST data can corrupt the stack, enabling code execution or service interruption.
