Authenticated SQL execution via unsanitized sy parameter
Published Sep 15, 2025 · Updated Sep 15, 2025
SQL injection in SourceCodester Student Grading System 1.0 allows remote authenticated users to access its database via the sy parameter. The del_promote.php handler places the POSTed sy value directly into an SQL query without validation or parameter binding, enabling time-based blind inference. A valid application session is required; successful exploitation can read or alter database data within the application database account permissions.
