Authenticated file inclusion via unvalidated shortcode paths
Published Oct 15, 2025 · Updated Oct 15, 2025
Local file inclusion in BlindMatrix e-Commerce before 3.1 allows remote authenticated users to read server files through a shortcode. The plugin uses unvalidated shortcode attributes to build paths supplied to PHP include functions; the published proof of concept selects /etc/passwd with the source attribute. Contributor-level access is sufficient, and execution of attacker-controlled PHP requires a file that the server can already access.
