Logging configuration changes via missing nonce validation
Published Sep 26, 2025 · Updated Sep 26, 2025
Cross-site request forgery in Bowo System Dashboard 2.8.20 and earlier allows remote attackers to change WordPress logging settings. The sd_toggle_logs() function processes state-changing requests without validating a WordPress nonce, allowing forged requests to toggle Page Access, Error, and Email Delivery logs. Exploitation requires a logged-in administrator with manage_options to load attacker-controlled content; the direct consequence is unauthorized logging configuration changes.
