AI API key disclosure via backup key inclusion
Published Sep 24, 2025 · Updated Sep 24, 2025
Credential exposure in Perforce Puppet Enterprise 2025.4.0 through 2025.5 allows remote authenticated users to recover an AI API key from backups. Puppet backup gathers the Infra Assistant database encryption key instead of excluding it, placing the key and encrypted provider credential in the same backup set. Exposure requires a PE Advanced license, an enabled opt-in Infra Assistant, high-privilege backup access, and recovery of the encrypted API key.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
