Stored XSS via unescaped changelog messages
Published Sep 13, 2025 · Updated Sep 13, 2025
Stored cross-site scripting in WhatCD Gazelle at commit 63b337026d49b5cf63ce4be20fdabdc880112fa3 allows remote authenticated users to run script. The change-log view echoes the database-backed Message value into HTML without encoding, so stored tags and event handlers execute on page load. An authenticated user must first save a crafted commit message, and execution requires another user, including an administrator, to open the changelog.
