Published Sep 12, 2025 · Updated Sep 12, 2025
Weak password recovery in Wavlink WL-WN578W2 Firmware 221110 allows remote attackers to reset the administrator password. The unauthenticated POST handler at /sysinit.html accepts matching newpass and confpass values without verifying a session or the existing password. Network access to the management interface is sufficient, and a successful reset grants administrative control of the device.
