Administrator takeover via unchecked cross-account password change
Published Sep 12, 2025 · Updated Sep 12, 2025
Broken authorization in Iteachyou Dreamer CMS 4.1.3.0 through 4.1.3.2 allows remote authenticated users to take over accounts. The /admin/user/updatePwd handler validates the supplied old password against the target account but never verifies that the logged-in user owns that account. A low-privileged session plus the target user's ID and current password is required; targeting an administrator account grants administrative control.
