Administrator-level file deletion via unchecked backup path
Published Sep 26, 2025 · Updated Sep 26, 2025
Path traversal in Softaculous Backuply for WordPress 1.4.8 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to delete arbitrary server files. The delete-backup handler accepts a user-controlled backup path without confining it to the backup directory before removing the resolved file. Administrator-level access is required; deleting wp-config.php can disrupt the site and lead to remote code execution.
