Code execution via colliding archive extraction directory
Published Oct 9, 2025 · Updated Oct 9, 2025
Path traversal in BBOT's unarchive module through 2.6.1 allows remote attackers to execute code through crafted archives. The module extracted attacker-supplied archive contents into a destination that could already exist and contain attacker-controlled paths. Exploitation requires a BBOT user to scan a malicious web server; arbitrary file writes on the scanner host enable code execution.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
