CVE-2025-10281Network attack vector

GitHub API key disclosure via unchecked repository URL

Published Oct 9, 2025 · Updated Oct 9, 2025

Information disclosure in Black Lantern Security BBOT before 2.7.0 allows remote attackers to steal GitHub API keys via crafted repository URLs. The git_clone module attaches a configured GitHub credential to a repository request without first ensuring that the destination is github.com. Exploitation requires a configured GitHub API key and a scan that processes an attacker-controlled repository link; the exposed token can be reused within its granted GitHub permissions.
