Privileged memory access via undisclosed firmware flaw
Published Jun 10, 2026 · Updated Jun 10, 2026
Arbitrary memory access in Lenovo ThinkPad embedded controller firmware allows privileged local users to read or write protected memory. Lenovo has not disclosed the faulty cryptographic operation, code locus, or input path that permits access to privileged regions. High local privileges and no user interaction are required; successful use exposes protected data and permits modification of firmware-controlled memory.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
