Local input capture via default task affinity
Published Sep 10, 2025 · Updated Sep 10, 2025
Task hijacking in Seismic App 2.4.2 for Android allows local users to capture sensitive input through a malicious application. The app manifest leaves task affinity at its package-name default, allowing an attacker-controlled activity with the same affinity to occupy the task root and appear when Seismic starts. Exploitation requires installation and use of a malicious app plus a subsequent Seismic launch on Android before 11, enabling credential phishing or deceptive permission prompts.
