SMS disclosure via permissionless blind SQL injection
Published Sep 23, 2025 · Updated Sep 23, 2025
SQL injection in the Telephony provider in OnePlus OxygenOS 12 through 15 allows local users to read SMS and MMS data through an installed app. The exported PushMessageProvider, PushShopProvider, and ServiceNumberProvider omit write permissions and pass attacker-controlled selection text to SQLiteDatabase.update. An app needs no declared permissions or user interaction; Boolean inference exposes message bodies and metadata, including SMS authentication codes.
