Stored XSS via unsanitized bw_link code attribute
Published Oct 15, 2025 · Updated Oct 15, 2025
Stored XSS in WP BookWidgets 0.9 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to inject scripts through the bw_link shortcode. The bw_link handler places its user-controlled code attribute into generated link output without adequate sanitization or escaping. Contributor-level access is required to save the shortcode, and the stored script runs in the browser of anyone who opens the affected page.
