Stored XSS via unescaped shortcode attributes
Published Oct 15, 2025 · Updated Oct 15, 2025
Stored XSS in WP ViewSTL 1.0 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to inject scripts through the viewstl shortcode. The shortcode handler accepts user-supplied attributes without sufficient sanitization and emits them without adequate output escaping. Contributor-level access is required to store the payload in a page, where the script executes in a visitor's browser when that page is viewed.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
