Stored script execution via unescaped shortcode attributes
Published Oct 15, 2025 · Updated Oct 15, 2025
Stored XSS in URLYar URL Shortener 1.1.0 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to inject scripts via shortcode attributes. The urlyar_shortlink shortcode renders user-supplied attributes without sufficient sanitization or output escaping, causing stored script content to enter generated pages. Contributor-level access is required to plant a payload; the script then runs in each visitor's browser when the affected page loads.
