Contributor-level stored XSS via unescaped shortcode attributes
Published Sep 30, 2025 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Stored XSS in Eulerpool Research Systems 4.0.1 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to inject scripts through the aaq shortcode. The shortcode handler places user-supplied attributes into rendered page output without adequate input sanitization or context-appropriate escaping. Contributor-level access is required, and the stored script executes in the browser whenever a user opens the injected page.
