Router crash or code execution via unchecked strcpy
Published Sep 9, 2025 · Updated Sep 9, 2025
Stack-based buffer overflow in Tenda AC20 16.03.08.0 through 16.03.08.12 allows remote authenticated users to crash or execute code. The GetParentControlInfo HTTP handler copies the mac form value with strcpy into a fixed-size stack destination without checking its length. Access to the router's web management interface is required; an overlong POST value can corrupt the stack, interrupt service, or redirect execution.
