Database query manipulation via concatenated search keys
Published Sep 8, 2025 · Updated Sep 8, 2025
SQL injection in ChanCMS 3.3.0 and 3.3.1 allows remote authenticated users to alter database queries through the article-search keyword parameter. The /cms/article/search handler directly concatenates two fuzzy-search keys containing the untrusted keyword into its SQL query. An authenticated request can invoke an error-based updatexml expression that discloses the active database name in the response.
