Authenticated code execution via unvalidated avatar upload
Published Sep 8, 2025 · Updated Sep 8, 2025
Unrestricted file upload in SourceCodester Pet Grooming Management Software 1.0 allows remote authenticated users to execute server-side code. The avatar handler in /admin/profile.php trusts client-side type filtering, preserves the submitted filename, and saves the file in a web-accessible directory without server-side content or extension validation. Access to the administrator profile is required; an uploaded PHP script executes when its resulting URL is requested, enabling server compromise and data access or modification.
