Authenticated code execution via unvalidated profile upload
Published Sep 8, 2025 · Updated Sep 8, 2025
Unrestricted file upload in SourceCodester Pet Management System 1.0 allows remote authenticated users to execute server-side PHP. The admin/profile.php handler passes the website_image temporary file to move_uploaded_file under its supplied basename without checking its extension, MIME type, or content. An administrator-level session is required, and the uploaded script enters a web-accessible Profile directory where requests execute commands with the web server's privileges.
