Malicious update delivery via inadequate certificate validation
Published Feb 10, 2025 · Updated Feb 10, 2025
Improper certificate validation in MicroDicom DICOM Viewer 2024.03 allows attackers to deliver malicious updates via intercepted traffic. The update client inadequately authenticates the update server certificate, allowing an intercepted server response to be replaced with a malicious update. Exploitation requires an adjacent-network position and active user interaction; the documented consequence is unauthorized update modification.
