CVE-2025-10015

TCC-protected file disclosure via unvalidated XPC clients

Published Sep 16, 2025 · Updated Sep 16, 2025

Incorrect authorization in Sparkle before 2.7.2 allows local users to copy TCC-protected files through Downloader.xpc. Downloader.xpc accepts requests without adequately validating the connecting client or request URL, letting globally registered instances inherit a host application's TCC permissions. The path requires installed local code and a host app that retains the unsandboxed service, plus existing TCC access or approval through a system prompt.
