Heap corruption via V8 use-after-free
Published Feb 15, 2025 · Updated Feb 19, 2025
Use-after-free in V8 in Google Chrome before 133.0.6943.98 allows remote attackers to exploit heap corruption through crafted HTML. V8 accesses a heap object after its lifetime ends, but Google keeps the issue details restricted and has not named the affected function or object type. Exploitation requires a user to load attacker-controlled HTML, after which corrupted browser memory can terminate the process or alter execution.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.

Attacks
What attackers are doing with it
Daily unique IPs observed by Shadowserver honeypots for known exploited vulnerabilities (KEVs). Missing observations do not establish an absence of attacks.
