Sandbox escape via Rhino permission-object modification
Published Feb 6, 2025 · Updated Feb 12, 2025
Sandbox escape in Google Cloud Application Integration allows remote authenticated users to execute code outside JavaScript Task isolation. Rhino permits Java reflection and modification of in-memory permission objects, bypassing the Java security manager. The user must be authorized to author and run JavaScript tasks; successful exploitation executes arbitrary code in the managed execution environment.
