Authenticated file modification via unvalidated backup paths
Published Feb 3, 2025 · Updated Feb 12, 2025
Path traversal in CmsEasy 7.7.7.9 allows remote authenticated users to alter files through the database backup endpoint. The backAll_action function in lib/admin/database_admin.php accepts attacker-controlled select[] path components without restricting traversal outside the intended directory. An authenticated session is required, and successful requests can modify files accessible to the PHP process or interrupt the service.
