CVE-2025-0960Network attack vector

Remote code execution via skipped bounds checks

Published Feb 4, 2025 · Updated Feb 4, 2025

Classic buffer overflow in AutomationDirect C-more EA9 HMI firmware 6.79 and earlier allows remote attackers to execute code or crash devices. An undisclosed network-facing function permits its bounds checks to be skipped before it copies attacker-controlled input. No authentication or user interaction is required, and successful exploitation either executes code on the HMI or interrupts its service.
