CVE-2025-0914Network attack vector

Authenticated command execution via query plugin bypass

Published Feb 27, 2025 · Updated Feb 27, 2025

Improper access control in Rapid7 Velociraptor before 0.73.4 allows remote authenticated users to execute commands on endpoint agents. The VQL query() plugin invokes the execve() plugin without preserving the Client.prevent_execve restriction that should block process execution. Exposure requires the uncommon, explicitly enabled prevent_execve setting and a highly privileged authenticated account; successful use bypasses that deployment policy to launch arbitrary processes on managed endpoints.
