Administrative command execution via stored credentials
Published Feb 14, 2025 · Updated Feb 21, 2025
Privilege escalation in SICK AG MEAC300 before 4.0.54.21 allows remote authenticated users to execute commands as an administrator. The runas function starts MEAC applications with stored administrator credentials and lets the EPC2 user substitute any command. Access as the low-privileged EPC2 user is required, after which arbitrary administrative command execution can compromise the system.
