SYSTEM code execution via replaceable service binary
Published Jan 30, 2025 · Updated Jan 30, 2025
Privilege escalation in Wondershare Dr.Fone 13.5.21 allows local users to execute malicious code as SYSTEM via binary replacement. ElevationService.exe under C:\ProgramData\Wondershare\wsServices is replaceable by a low-privileged user, and the service automatically executes the substituted file as SYSTEM. Local low-privileged access and write access to that path are required; successful exploitation grants SYSTEM-level code execution.
