Authentication bypass in Schneider Electric EPAS-UI 2.1 through 2.9 allows physically proximate attackers to take control after boot interruption. Schneider Electric has not disclosed which boot-stage authentication control fails or how interrupting normal startup bypasses it. Physical access to the EPAS-UI computer and the ability to reboot it are required; exploitation grants partial to full control of the HMI SCADA.
