Stored XSS via unescaped shortcode attributes
Published Feb 18, 2025 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Stored XSS in the mlcalc shortcode in MLCALC Mortgage Loan Calculator 1.5.20 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to inject scripts. The display_mlcalc handler extracts user-supplied attributes and carries them into generated form and script output without sufficient sanitization or context-appropriate escaping. Contributor-level access is required to store a payload, which executes in a visitor's browser whenever the injected page is opened.
