Settings reset via missing nonce validation
Published Feb 18, 2025 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Cross-site request forgery in Kevin Brent WPrequal 8.2.11 and earlier allows remote attackers to reset plugin settings via forged requests. The wprequal_reset_defaults action processes a settings-reset request without correctly validating a WordPress nonce tied to the administrator's session. Exploitation requires an administrator to follow an attacker-controlled link or otherwise submit the forged request, and the documented consequence is modification of plugin configuration.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
