CVE-2025-0751Public exploitNetwork attack vector

mp42aac crash via out-of-bounds bit read

Published Jan 27, 2025 · Updated Jan 27, 2025

Heap buffer over-read in Axiomatic Systems Bento4 1.6.0 and earlier allows remote attackers to crash mp42aac via a crafted MP4 file. AP4_Dac4Atom passes insufficiently bounded AC-4 atom data to AP4_BitReader::ReadBits, which reads one byte beyond a 56-byte heap allocation. Exploitation requires mp42aac to process the malicious file; the published reproduction terminates the instrumented process.
