Unpaid subscription upgrades via unchecked POST parameters
Published Jan 30, 2025 · Updated Feb 18, 2025
Improper access control in EmbedAI before 2.1 allows remote authenticated users to change subscription plans without payment. The /demos/embedai/pmt_cash_on_delivery/pay endpoint accepts attacker-controlled POST parameters and applies the requested plan without enforcing payment authorization. A valid account is required, and exploitation alters only the attacker's subscription entitlement rather than other users' data or service availability.
