Cross-user file disclosure via unchecked file identifier
Published Jan 30, 2025 · Updated Feb 18, 2025
Improper access control in EmbedAI before 2.1 allows remote authenticated users to read files belonging to other users. The /embedai/files/show/<FILE_ID> endpoint accepts a caller-controlled file identifier without enforcing ownership before returning the referenced file. Any authenticated account can substitute another user's identifier and disclose that user's stored file contents.
