Authenticated code execution via unchecked cover upload
Published Jan 26, 2025 · Updated Apr 16, 2025
Unrestricted file upload in needyamin Image Gallery 1.0 allows remote authenticated users to place executable files on the web server. The Cover Image Handler in /admin/gallery.php accepts the image upload without checking its extension or content and stores it under a web-accessible models path. Administrative panel access is required; a PHP web shell uploaded through Add Gallery can then execute commands with the web server's privileges.
