Secure Boot bypass via read-buffer integer overflow

Heap out-of-bounds write in GNU GRUB 2.12 and earlier allows physically proximate attackers to corrupt boot-loader memory via keyboard input. The read command stores input length in a 32-bit integer and reuses the overflowing value to resize its heap line buffer before accepting another character. Reaching the flaw requires high privileges, physical access, and user interaction; corruption of GRUB's critical data can undermine Secure Boot integrity.
