CVE-2025-0676Network attack vector

Root command execution via tcpdump input injection

Published Apr 2, 2025 · Updated Apr 3, 2025

OS command injection in tcpdump on affected Moxa network appliances allows remote authenticated users to execute commands as root. The tcpdump console function fails to neutralize shell metacharacters in attacker-controlled input before constructing a system command. High-privileged console access is required; successful exploitation grants a persistent root shell and can interrupt network connectivity.
