CVE-2025-0672Network attack vector

Account impersonation via stale FIDO credential association

Published Sep 23, 2025 · Updated Sep 23, 2025

Authentication bypass in affected WSO2 products allows remote attackers to impersonate a newly created user through stale FIDO data. Account deletion leaves the username's registered FIDO device data intact, and later account creation with that username rebinds the stale registration. Exploitation requires FIDO authentication, a deleted account, reuse of its username, and possession of the former user's registered FIDO device; access is limited to the new account's privileges.
