Internal-note disclosure via review notification emails
Published Mar 13, 2025 · Updated Mar 14, 2025
Incorrect authorization in affected GitLab CE/EE releases allows remote authenticated users to receive confidential internal notes. Review submission emails include internal merge-request notes without verifying that every recipient is a project member authorized to view them. A low-privilege account must submit a merge-request review that emails a non-member; disclosure is limited to the note contents.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
- Affected versionversion=16.9 <17.7.7
- Affected versionversion=17.8 <17.8.5
- Affected versionversion=17.9 <17.9.2

Attacks
What attackers are doing with it
Daily unique IPs observed by Shadowserver honeypots for known exploited vulnerabilities (KEVs). Missing observations do not establish an absence of attacks.
