CVE-2025-0638Network attack vector

Service crash via unchecked manifest filenames

Published Jan 22, 2025 · Updated Feb 12, 2025

Input validation in NLnet Labs Routinator 0.14.0 and earlier allows remote attackers to crash the service via a crafted RPKI manifest. The manifest parser accepts non-ASCII filename characters without checking them, and later code assumes validation occurred and panics on the illegal characters. Any unauthenticated party able to supply a manifest that Routinator processes can interrupt validation and the long-running service.
