Stored XSS via unescaped notice headline
Published Mar 11, 2025 · Updated Mar 11, 2025
Stored XSS in Coronavirus (COVID-19) Notice Message 1.1.2 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to run script in visitors' browsers. The plugin stores an unsanitized notice headline and emits it into an HTML attribute without escaping, allowing event-handler markup to execute when the notice is rendered. Administrator-level access is required, and a visitor must render the saved notice; the issue remains exploitable when unfiltered_html is disabled.
