CVE-2025-0605Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Protected-group access via skipped mandatory 2FA check

Published May 22, 2025 · Updated May 22, 2025

Weak authentication in GitLab CE/EE before 17.10.7, 17.11.3, or 18.0.1 allows remote authenticated users to access protected groups without 2FA. The group membership flow accepts an approved access request without applying the group's mandatory 2FA check, while directly added members remain blocked. A group owner must enable mandatory 2FA and approve the access request; the accepted member can then read or modify permitted group resources before enrolling a second factor.
