CVE-2025-0510Network attack vector

Sender spoofing via invalid From group syntax

Published Feb 4, 2025 · Updated Apr 13, 2026

Sender spoofing in Mozilla Thunderbird before 128.7 and before 135 allows remote attackers to display a false sender address in crafted email. When parsing the From header, Thunderbird accepts an invalid group-name form and renders an address different from the sender address encoded by the message. A recipient must view the malicious message; the result is misleading sender identity in the mail interface, not mailbox access or code execution.
