Administrator takeover via unauthenticated default-password reset
Published Jan 15, 2025 · Updated Jan 15, 2025
Use of default credentials in Fanli2012 native-php-cms 1.0 allows remote attackers to obtain administrator access via password recovery. The unauthenticated /fladmin/user_recoverpwd.php endpoint overwrites the seeded administrator password with the repository's default MD5 value. Network access to the endpoint is sufficient to reset the admin888 account and then sign in with administrative privileges.
